As gears 2 is my 5 for this franchise, this one has to be a 4. I didn't like the story as much, I didn't like losing certain people, and I'd rather fight conventional locust over lambent whatevers. It's neat when they blow up the first few times, but it's ultimately just an annoyance. Other than those few things, this game is among the best in it's class. Would recommend without a doubt.

Gears of War 3 marks the final main-line installment in the original Gears of War trilogy. Set 18 months after Marcus sinks Jacinto, the game opens to reveal the COG has disbanded and left humanity scattered across Sera. The Lambent are now a major threat to humanity’s scarce population, while the surviving members of the Locust Horde retreat to settlements in Sera’s wastelands. Marcus’ father, Adam, who was presumed to have been deceased, notifies the COG that he is alive on Azura, an isolated island, and possess a solution to eradicate the Locust and Lambent threats. Marcus and his allies reach Azura after Dom sacrifices himself to rescue his friends from imminent demise. Adam is rescued and releases his anti-Locust and Lambent weapon but reveals he infected himself with the Lambent contagion to develop the weapon. The weapon’s energy wave destroys all Locust and Lambent forces, including Adam. Marcus personally kills Myrrah and dedicates her demise to his fallen friends, family, and comrades.

Epic Games feels the pain of those who missed out on obtaining those gold-plated armaments, and have decided to take a path of righteousness and give fans a chance to obtain the long sought-after weapons. The process required to secure the fabled hardware is actually pretty easy for those who have already premeditated purchasing Gears of War 3 on the day of its launch.

GoW gets four stars for the fact that the game could have had a little more by way of a twist a plot game play styling. It is pretty much a linear game that when you pass a checkpoint you are done with the previous sections like it or not. They should use automatic save points like the Cry Engine used in Crysis (fantastic game) and allow the player to really ambush the crap out of the enemy. GoW gets five stars for gameplay because it earned five stars for gameplay. It gives you everything that its genre demands and then some as well as solid game play mechanics that are seasoned to say the least.
First, I tried the campaign on insane after finally trying the end all be all gears difficulty on gears: judgement, which was honestly a lot cheaper in how it kills you when it does (A LOT of frags). The story is still engaging to me, the game play is every bit as polished as any you could mention, and beating it was honestly satisfying. It wasn't miserable, and it wasn't easy. It was a firm lesson in strategy and pacing yourself. Great campaign, and arcade mode gives that little bit of competitive edge when playing with friends to really push it over the edge into my top 5 all time favorites. publishes some of the highest quality games available online, all completely free to play. This list shouldn’t be called the best horror games so much as the most popular horror games.5 nights at Freddie’s and dead by daylight aren’t particularly good games. They are simply popular. You could have thrown in some quality games like Deadwood or Detention but I guess those games aren’t popular enough. Heaven forbid a game news site gives coverage to some lesser known indie title. PT made the list and it’s just a demo for goodness sake.
