The NPD Group named Call of Duty the eighth-best-selling computer game of 2003.[6] It maintained this position on NPD's computer game sales rankings for the following year.[7] In the United States alone, Call of Duty sold 790,000 copies and earned $29.6 million by August 2006. At the time, this led Edge to declare it the country's 13th-best-selling computer game released since January 2000.[8] The game also received a "Silver" sales award from the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA),[9] indicating sales of at least 100,000 copies in the United Kingdom.[10] Call of Duty ultimately sold 4.5 million copies worldwide by 2013.[11]

I'll start off with this because it's short and it's my personal opinion on their choice in cosmetics. I'm happy to say the prosthetic limb is gone along with anything that doesn't really fit the WW2 mold, but they've still kept in some of the rugged appearances to give players a unique look. I can't really fault this because it is a video game and many players like having a way to distinguish themselves on the battlefield. The base cosmetics each have a "camo" you can unlock by completing challenges and you don't buy them. There are cosmetics you can purchase in store, but the looks you can unlock hail from the days of Red Tiger camo in CoD Modern Warfare 1 when it was an achievement. There's not a ton to choose from at the moment, but I imagine as the game continues on, we'll get more of a wardrobe.

In June 2007 the Central Intelligence Agency declassified secret records—part of a collection of highly guarded documents called the "Family Jewels"—detailing illegal domestic surveillance, assassination plots, kidnapping, and infiltration and penetration of other "black" operations undertaken by the CIA from the 1950s to the early 1970s. The fourth map pack, "Rezurrection" was released on August 23, 2011 for the Xbox 360 and September 22, 2011 on PlayStation 3 and PC. The Rezurrection Map Pack is made up of 5 Zombies mode only maps. It includes the first 4 maps from Call of Duty: World at War ("Shi No Numa"/"Swamp", "Nacht Der Untoten"/"Night", "Verruckt"/"Asylum", "Der Riese"/"Factory") and a new map called "Moon". "Moon" allows players to fight zombies in zero gravity with both the player and the zombies under zero gravity influence.[87]

For the past 6 seasons in competitive Call of Duty, Full Sail University has hosted a prize giveaway, giving $2,500 to the top team each season.[61] The other ladders give out credits and medals registered on players' profiles. Tournaments hosted on the Call of Duty: Ghosts's Arena give cost from 15 to 30 credits, thus averaging at a cost of about $18.75 per tournament. If the player competes with a team, the prize money is divided and an equal cut is given to each player. Other tournaments with substantial prizes are hosted in specific cities and countries for LAN teams.
The online multiplayer mode of Black Ops usually revolves around two teams on a specific mission. For example, in Team Deathmatch the team with the most kills wins, while in Capture the Flag, players take the other team's flags and return it to their own base. Additionally, there is Free For All in which players aren't separated into teams. Not including Downloadable maps, there are 14 different maps.

Call of Duty: Black Ops takes place between 1961 and 1968 during the Cold War, 20 years after the events of World at War. It portrays a secret history of CIA clandestine black operations carried out behind enemy lines. Missions take place in various locations around the globe such as the Ural Mountains, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Hong Kong, Laos, South Vietnam, the Arctic circle and Siberia. The single-player campaign revolves around an experimental chemical weapon codenamed "Nova-6". This weapon is bound to be used by sleeper agents in the United States, who are infused with sequences of numbers, once broadcasts are transmitted from an unknown numbers station.
Call of Duty: World at War, developed by Treyarch, is the fifth installment of the main series. Released after Modern Warfare, it returns to the World War II setting of earlier titles,[23] featuring the Pacific theater and Eastern front. The game uses the same proprietary game engine as Call of Duty 4 and was released for the PC, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360 consoles and the Nintendo DS handheld in North America on November 11, 2008, and November 14, 2008 in Europe. As of June 2009, Call of Duty: World at War has sold over 11 million copies.[24] It acts as a prologue for Treyarch's next game, Black Ops, which is in the same universe, sharing characters and story references.[25][26]

The voice acting is fairly good, and the video is good. If you're a fan of all those old war movies, which I admit I am, then there's a certain amount of fun being immersed in them. But there's one thing to enjoy being "in the scene" with Robert De Niro. It's another to be there and then annoyed by streams of never-ending enemies stalking at you like zombies.
Battlefield 1 had better graphics and sound design. I know I know, I sound crazy, but having compared the two quite a bit I have concluded that graphically, Battlefield 1 is better. As for the sound design I play both games with a pretty nice headset and have all of the audio settings tuned for it. Believe me when I say Battlefield 1 sounds better in terms of weapon sounds, ambience, etc.

As the focus of the game is on simulation of the actual battlefield, the gameplay differed from many single-player shooters of the time. The player moves in conjunction with allied soldiers rather than alone; allied soldiers will assist the player in defeating enemy soldiers and advancing; however, the player is given charge of completing certain objectives. The game places heavy emphasis on usage of cover, suppressive fire, and grenades. AI-controlled soldiers will take cover behind walls, barricades, and other obstacles when available.
Seven maps, each with multiple objectives that take advantage of both Call of Duty's fast-paced, twitch shooter mechanics and team-based, objective mechanics, makes for a lot of replay value. It's one of the best things that ever happened to this franchise, as far as I'm concerned, and I've played countless hours in this mode over the past year or so.
Players can compete in ladders or tournaments. The ladders are divided into several sub ladders such as: the singles ladder, doubles ladder, team ladder (3v3 – 6v6) and hardcore team ladder (3v3 – 6v6). The difference between the regular team ladder and the hardcore team ladder is the in game settings and thus a rule differentiation. Winning ladder matches on a competitive website rewards the user with experience points which add up to give them an overall rank.[59]
There are over 20 NEW Kill Streaks in Call of Duty®: Ghosts — such as Juggernaut Maniac, Helo-Scout, Vulture and the ODIN Strike. You can even bring in Riley, from the single-player campaign, as your guard dog to warn you and attack when enemies are near. Scorestreaks are back, and can now be customized – to alter performance attributes or increase the power of a particular streak. The new Perks System has a value from 1 to 5, and you have 8 points to allocate. You could also choose to get rid of your secondary weapon and get up to 11 perks. 
I can safely say the only thing IMO that havent continue to down grade each release is the incredible audio(seriously some of the best in the industry), the graphics, the shooting mechanics and the servers actually having a decent tick rate for the player size I think we can all remember the horrible tick rate in BF4. I'll be dead honest here BF5 more than ever makes battlefield feel like nothing more than another call of duty game with its intense focus on infantry combat and the speed of the game with people running around at mach 10. The only difference is there are vehicles and the maps are a bit bigger. I don't ever get the feeling of only in battlefield anymore.
