The first issue is the setting, which weirdly feels a bit dated because of a trend Battlefield itself started. Two years ago, it was Call of Duty that seemed like it had made the misstep, continuing to plug away at the “future war”concept while Battlefield 1 felt like a fresh return to a bygone era, and doing so in WWI instead of the more common choice, WWII.

Some people do like the multiplayer formula (online), and I will admit I was one of them. But CoD is just nothing new. It's boring. I can't recommend anyone to pick up this game for the multiplayer aspect, but if you love zombies this game is more than worth it. Also, even though I dislike the multiplayer portions anyway, the online in Black Ops is better than Modern Warfare 3.
A black operation (or black op) is a covert operation or clandestine operation by a government agency, a military unit or a paramilitary organization. This can include activities by private companies or groups. Key features of a black operation are that it is secret and it is not attributable to the organization carrying it out.[1] The main difference between a black operation and one that is merely secret is that a black operation involves a significant degree of deception, to conceal who is behind it or to make it appear that some other entity is responsible ("false flag" operations).[2][3]
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the sixth installment of the main series. Some time in 1963, the United States government manages to grab hold of several of Group 935's inventions, keeping them hidden in the Pentagon. Due to the presence of the undead-raising Element 115, zombies breach the Pentagon. John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Robert McNamara, and Fidel Castro are trapped within the Pentagon, forced to fight their way out. Meanwhile, Richtofen's crew arrive at a Soviet Cosmodrome site, where Richtofen intends to travel to Group 935's moon base, Griffin Station. The crew is contacted by Gersh, a member of the Ascension Group who requests to be freed from Samantha's grip. After freeing Gersh, the four of them are teleported further in time, and arrive at a Siberian lighthouse sometime in 2011, once used by Richtofen as a secret lab. However, they are trapped within a locked room, and forced to rely on four movie actors: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Danny Trejo, Robert Englund, and Michael Rooker, who are filming a zombie movie on-site along with director George A. Romero, who had been infected as well. Richtofen requests the four celebrities to find a golden rod, which is a Vril generator device, which he then uses to fix the teleporter. He transports himself and the other three soldiers back to Shangri-La, leaving the celebrities behind to continue fighting Romero and the horde. At Shangri-La, the group discovers two explorers, Gary and Brock, who died trapped within a time loop while trying to discover the secrets of the mythical Agartha realm. The group saves the explorers' lives by traveling back and forth in time, altering the environments of the temple in the process. They discover an altar within the temple with Richtofen's name written on it, as well as a piece of a meteorite containing Element 115. However, the explorers remain stuck in the never-ending loop.

For Black Ops, Treyarch focused only on this game unlike past practice. However, it had different teams, each working on separate game modes.[46] Treyarch used a motion capture technology similar to the one used in James Cameron's film Avatar, which allows accurate facial expressions, capturing the whole performance of the actor.[47] The studio also consulted special forces veterans from both belligerents of the Cold War: Major John Plaster (US Army-Ret.) who served in the MACV-SOG during the Vietnam War, and former Soviet special forces operative Sonny Puzikas.[48] The latter taught Treyarch how Spetsnaz soldiers would react in combat, such as rolling out of the line of fire. Spetsnaz AIs in the game have been modeled after him, from his tactics and his movements to his face.[49][50] Although having a historical background, the classified aspect of these Cold War black operations allowed the studio to create its own fictional story.[51] The game also allows players to turn down the blood and turn off the profanity.[52]

The fourth map pack, "Rezurrection" was released on August 23, 2011 for the Xbox 360 and September 22, 2011 on PlayStation 3 and PC. The Rezurrection Map Pack is made up of 5 Zombies mode only maps. It includes the first 4 maps from Call of Duty: World at War ("Shi No Numa"/"Swamp", "Nacht Der Untoten"/"Night", "Verruckt"/"Asylum", "Der Riese"/"Factory") and a new map called "Moon". "Moon" allows players to fight zombies in zero gravity with both the player and the zombies under zero gravity influence.[87]
An independent, covert, and ultra-elite Special Forces unit, GHOSTS operates outside of the normal military chain of command. Formed from the remnants of Tier one operatives, who were nearly wiped out during Operation Sand Viper in the Middle East, in 2005. The fifteen survivors, including Captain Gabriel Rorke and Lt. Elias Walker, were formed into a new unit known as “The Ghosts.”
The 2005 release Battlefield 2 takes place in the modern day, depicting a war between the United States and China and the fictional Middle Eastern Coalition (MEC). Despite requiring numerous patches due to a large number of bugs and glitches in the game upon its release, it was a large commercial success, selling more than 2,250,000 copies worldwide, by July 2006.[35] One expansion pack, Special Forces, which added Russia, exclusive missions, and new weapons and gadgets, and two booster packs, Armored Fury (adding three new battles in the USA) and Euro Force (adding the European Union), were also released. A similar game called Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was released for consoles, with a larger single player mode but limited online play.
However, in a recent interview with GamerHubTV, Treyarch co-head Dan Bunting suggested that Black ops 4 mods were still a possibility. “Many of our developers we hired directly from the mod community because they built a mod – they got noticed. In Black Ops 3 we released mod tools for the first time in the franchise in many, many years. We are big believers and supporters in the mod community, but we’re not quite ready to start talking about that yet.” It’s not much to go on, but it sounds like the decision is not yet final.

I can safely say the only thing IMO that havent continue to down grade each release is the incredible audio(seriously some of the best in the industry), the graphics, the shooting mechanics and the servers actually having a decent tick rate for the player size I think we can all remember the horrible tick rate in BF4. I'll be dead honest here BF5 more than ever makes battlefield feel like nothing more than another call of duty game with its intense focus on infantry combat and the speed of the game with people running around at mach 10. The only difference is there are vehicles and the maps are a bit bigger. I don't ever get the feeling of only in battlefield anymore.
