Another area the development team focused on was their artificial intelligence (AI) pathfinding component dubbed "Conduit". The ability to suppress the enemy with cover fire and clear obstacles, such as fences and windows, was tightly integrated into the squad-based aspect of the single-player campaigns. The AI in the game was designed to flank the opponent, bank grenades, and move from one cover point to another.[1] Lead animation director Michael Boon explained that actions which would have normally been scripted in past games were moved to a dynamic AI environment, in order to help create a different experience each time levels are replayed.[5] While the campaigns were the primary focus, development of the multiplayer modes were tailored to please modders. Zied Rieke, a lead designer, clarified that gameplay and modes were written in script making it "extremely easy for players to make their own modifications to Call of Duty multiplayer".[5]

The retailer has seen a tough year all around, and earlier this year was discussing the possibility of accepting a buyout with a competitor. So far, it doesn’t look like progress has been made on that front, but it may be doing some looking around, especially after the loss. We’ll just have to see if it bounces back when end-of-the-year numbers get revealed sometime in early 2019, and if digital sales have a further effect or not.

Firstly, the maps. While it definately had some stinkers, Battlefield 1 had a fair number of great maps. Even at launch the maps never felt to repetitive. This only improved over the lifespan of the game as entire sets of maps, all themed after a front from ww1, were added. We even got a few maps themed after the Russian revolution which was a nice addition. Personally, over Somme was my favorite. Now let’s look at Battlefield V. Battlefield V launched with a comparable number of maps but their actual quality are debatable. I know this was the case for a few in BF1 but it is moreso an issue in BFV. I think it is safe to assume that a fair number of people in the Battlefield community dislike fjell 625, Narvik, and Hamada. That’s 3 out of the 8 maps that aren’t well suited to the gameplay that most people will be utilizing.

Now the bad . . . you pay $60 for the privilege of realizing that unless you also pay for Playstation internet, you cannot actually do really anything. For $60 I want a ton of stand alone features. This game is really an introduction fee to get to pay the monthly fee. That is not appropriate. Had I known that stand alone was so ridiculously limited would not have purchased.

A zombie cooperation mode, titled "Zombies", is included in the game. As the focus of the game is on simulation of the actual battlefield, the gameplay differed from many single-player shooters of the time. The player moves in conjunction with allied soldiers rather than alone; allied soldiers will assist the player in defeating enemy soldiers and advancing; however, the player is given charge of completing certain objectives. The game places heavy emphasis on usage of cover, suppressive fire, and grenades. AI-controlled soldiers will take cover behind walls, barricades, and other obstacles when available.
I don't have a lot of play-time in SP but I can tell you I will be playing more of it. As I mentioned, a great deal of the cosmetics and melee weapons in this game are unlocked by completing challenges and SP contains a few that I want. I'm currently working on getting Solveig's Knife from the Nordlys mission to acquire it and I'm excited to add it to my MP loadout. Perhaps other players can speak more to SP than I can, but from the Nordlys mission alone, if the other missions are similar, color me interested!

On April 11, 2011, a second map pack called "Escalation" was announced by Activison and Microsoft. It features 4 new multiplayer maps named "Zoo", "Hotel", "Convoy", "Stockpile" and one new zombies map named 'Call of the Dead'. This map is based on the movies by George A. Romero, the revolutionary epic-zombie-horror director. The trailer for this map shows the four playable characters: Danny Trejo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robert Englund and Michael Rooker. The name is a reference to the immensely popular Dead Series created and directed by Romero. The trailer also offers a sneak peek of a zombiefied version of George A. Romero himself, lurking out of water. The map is set on a ship, with instead of Nazi zombies, shipcrew zombies. It was released on May 3, 2011 for the Xbox 360, June 2 on the PC and June 10 for the PlayStation 3.[84]

We're immersing players in the multi-player maps in ways similar to what we've done cinematically in single-player, while adding new ways to play and interact with the environments in a meaningful way. New interactive elements and player triggered events make the maps evolve as the match goes on. From player-triggered traps to map-changing killstreaks, the entire landscape can shift and require new tactics and strategies.
This is probably my favorite Call of Duty since Ghosts. I was never a huge fan of the futuristic flying jet packs and wall running of Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare. WWII was refreshing in that regard, however, I really started to get burned out on WWII due to the really small maps, horrible rewards system and hokey costumes that you know never existed in the 1940s. Black Ops 4 is really refreshing. It's very fast paced and fluid. Even though there are no jet packs and wall running, nothing ever gets in your way. Getting around obstacles while shooting at the same time makes the game play super smooth. I really like the weapons (so far) and the graphics are really good. The user interface is a little confusing. I think video game companies in general could all benefit from having an actual UI designer on staff. As for the new Blackout game mode, maybe it's because I have never played any of those last man standing games like Fortnite, but I just don't do very well. It's like unless you get a decent gun within 15 seconds of landing on the ground, you're screwed. Also, the graphics in Blackout are terrible in comparison to normal multiplayer. I get it though, for a map that size they had to make compromises. Overall, I give Black Ops 4 a 9 out of 10.
This is what people really want to know about so here's my take... It feels like how BF1 should have been at launch if it were a WW2 game. That's not to say there aren't kinks, but the point is DICE seems to have taken a lot from what they've learned from BF1 and applied it immediately at launch to BFV. Here's some things that stuck out to me (in no good or bad order)

Some people do like the multiplayer formula (online), and I will admit I was one of them. But CoD is just nothing new. It's boring. I can't recommend anyone to pick up this game for the multiplayer aspect, but if you love zombies this game is more than worth it. Also, even though I dislike the multiplayer portions anyway, the online in Black Ops is better than Modern Warfare 3.

Warfare is no longer limited to the trenches. Fights take place underwater, in outer space and even on jagged rock faces. Diverse missions and battlefields have you rappelling down buildings, floating in zero gravity and taking aim inside a helicopter. The diversity of gameplay keeps the action epic and redefines what it means to be a soldier in the field.

I bought this game when i found out it had Bots for offline multiplayer. I dont have GOLD membership, that means i cant play games online. So bots was my only option for multiplayer. This game has 2 modes available for bots TD & DM. The bots play well, very competitive AI. I can hop in to play anytime & have fun. Worth picking up because it will keep you entertained.
