After reading the one star reviews I felt it nessessary to clear some things up and some intelligence to the discussion. First off anyone saying this game is a re-skin is very far off. This game feels completely revamped however still familiar to the series. It's a game in the battlefield series and will have similar gameplay because that's what the fans want. I can promise you though the graphics have been completely overhauled, the sniper class is smoother and the guns feel and operate very different than previous battlefield games because of the WW1 setting. This is certainly not a simple re-skin.
At the start of the game, each member of the team chooses from one of several custom character classes - medic, engineer, tank, and weapon specialist. As the team battles through the streets of Caldera Peak, players earn currency that can be used to purchase a variety of upgrades and character abilities. The team can scavenge for special equipment and weapon mods left behind by previous, unsuccessful, military forces.

Edit: Apparently people misinterpret the way I mentioned the patches being slow. I admit that I should've worded it a bit clearer to avoid this confusion but I'll try to make sense of it now. I'm fine with content and balance changes coming biweekly or even monthly, it's the fact that they group all the fixes into these patches as well that is a terrible decision in my opinion. A much better system would be to split fixes from these larger patches entirely, and make these fixes come at a greater pace. The amount of bugs and blatant oversights that could be fixed in a short amount of time are numerous in this game and it would do the game an immense amount of good to fix these issues sooner (I'm talking about stuff like barely getting any currency at 50 or changing assignments whilst not having to quit etc.).
Players can play alone or with friends against AI opponents in "Combat Training" with a separate progression system. Online split-screen is re-introduced on Xbox 360 and PS3. The guest account can rank up but is reset after each sign out. Only on Xbox 360, a second Gold Xbox Live account can be used to keep the second player's progression. Aside from the Combat Training mode, Xbox users can also have up to four players in split-screen mode play against AI opponents even without having an Xbox Live account. This is done by configuring the Local Split Screen settings and setting the number of enemies to a value greater than zero.
Matches won’t all be PvP, you’ll also be fighting AI zombies. Zombies spawn at a handful of pre-selected destinations, occasionally alongside a Mystery Box that contains rare items, which you can spot from a beam of blue light. Spotting. I don't know the full mechanics how this works, but I've seen very few markers above enemy's heads for their location. Muzzle flare, bullets, map markers and direct line of sight have been my spotting methods. People may be able to have better takes on the spotting systems (like Recon players) than I will, but overall I don't feel like the enemy has constant knowledge of where I am. Someone please comment how spotting works and I'll edit it into this section here with your name referenced.

We are now in what was supposed to be the debut weekend of Battlefield V, EA’s sequel to Battlefield 1 in one of the series’ most baffling naming decisions yet. But wisely EA chose to stay out of the middle of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 last week and Red Dead Redemption 2 this coming week, and instead delayed Battlefield V to November 20 instead, a somewhat less competitive date, though their reason given was that they just wanted more time to polish the game.
