On January 21, 1968, Mason's team is sent to Vietnam. After defending Khe Sanh, they recover a dossier on Dragovich from a Russian defector in Hue City during the Tet Offensive. The defector turns out to be none other than Reznov, who joins them as they penetrate Laos to recover a Nova 6 shipment from a downed Soviet plane. They are captured by Viet Cong and Spetznaz infiltrators at the crash site. Bowman is executed, but Woods and Mason hijack an Mi-24 Hind in the confusion and escape, moving on to rescue Reznov from Kravchenko's base. They confront Kravchenko and Woods stabs him, but Kravchenko pulls the pins off of four grenades strapped to himself, forcing Woods to sacrifice himself by pushing both himself and Kravchenko out of a window. In a huge explosion, Mason presumes the two dead.

Another area the development team focused on was their artificial intelligence (AI) pathfinding component dubbed "Conduit". The ability to suppress the enemy with cover fire and clear obstacles, such as fences and windows, was tightly integrated into the squad-based aspect of the single-player campaigns. The AI in the game was designed to flank the opponent, bank grenades, and move from one cover point to another.[1] Lead animation director Michael Boon explained that actions which would have normally been scripted in past games were moved to a dynamic AI environment, in order to help create a different experience each time levels are replayed.[5] While the campaigns were the primary focus, development of the multiplayer modes were tailored to please modders. Zied Rieke, a lead designer, clarified that gameplay and modes were written in script making it "extremely easy for players to make their own modifications to Call of Duty multiplayer".[5]
Sixteen years after Battlefield 1942 changed the landscape of competitive first-person shooters with its large-scale land/air/sea battles, the series returns to its original setting with Battlefield V. We fully expect to revisit some of the iconic World War II battles of that landmark title in due time, but rather than simply recreate a greatest hits of big moments from the war, launch content takes players to rarely discussed locations like Norway to recreate battles seldom seen in film or video games.

Maps. Only 4 in the rotation that I can tell and, while this means less variety, it does help you get accustomed to the maps. Yes, it's repetitive (and I hate the mountain map), but it gives me a chance to work with my buddies to develop strategies of attack and defense. Levelution is still going strong; every building in the play areas are destructible. They do need to work on vaulting over some broken buildings, climbing certain walls, and clipping through a wall when healing, but overall it doesn't break the immersion too much.
Weapon Progression. It's small and this is a detractor for me. Where games like BF3 and BF4 had a wide variety of grips, sights, barrels, attachments etc that affected the overall potency of a weapon, in BFV, you can change the scope on a gun then the rest is in the progression system which isn't mix and match. Some follow very linear build patterns where if you choose one progression for a gun, you have to take the next one in the chain. Granted, this helps make it so certain weapon progression combinations don't make you God, but it detracts from what I really liked about BF3 and BF4 weapon customizations. Can I live with this system? Yeah. Do I want a little more variety? Absolutely.
