I'll start off with this because it's short and it's my personal opinion on their choice in cosmetics. I'm happy to say the prosthetic limb is gone along with anything that doesn't really fit the WW2 mold, but they've still kept in some of the rugged appearances to give players a unique look. I can't really fault this because it is a video game and many players like having a way to distinguish themselves on the battlefield. The base cosmetics each have a "camo" you can unlock by completing challenges and you don't buy them. There are cosmetics you can purchase in store, but the looks you can unlock hail from the days of Red Tiger camo in CoD Modern Warfare 1 when it was an achievement. There's not a ton to choose from at the moment, but I imagine as the game continues on, we'll get more of a wardrobe.

In May 2009, publisher Activision was rumored to be looking for licensing regarding Vietnam War-era music which led to speculation that Call of Duty 7 would be set in Vietnam. In May 2009, Treyarch employee David Kim revealed on his LinkedIn profile that he would work as a senior animator on Call of Duty 7. In November 2009, only a few days before Modern Warfare 2's release, Activision officially announced a new Call of Duty title for 2010 through their third quarter financial call. In February 2010, a casting call for Call of Duty 7 led to speculation that the game would be taking place during the Cold War era with some battles taking place in South Vietnam. The theme of black operations is a popular genre within fictional literature and Hollywood films. Both the spy film and spy fiction genres have had a significant following for many decades including such films as Apocalypse Now and Zero Dark Thirty and such authors as John Le Carre and Tom Clancy. These “black operations” have also been a key point in video games. One such example is Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops, set in the early 1960s, where the player performs black operations such as trying to assassinate Fidel Castro and to eliminate the three antagonists.
Content, The launch content of Blacks Ops 4 is pretty good 14 maps at launch with a battle royale and 3 zombies maps (4 with Black Ops Pass but well get to that later). Axing the campaign to focus on the multiplayer content the thing people actually care for is in hindsight smart. While it’s competition Battlefield V included a campaign it sucked and the multiplayer has no content. Call of Duty must be applauded for giving its player a complete package at launch and as a live service more stuff is coming in and changing the game with more content to come keeping the game alive.
Zombies, Treyarch’s Zombies return the original studio to do zombies back at world at war 10 years ago and they never stop being the best call of duty zombies developers. Some people might only be interested in the Zombies mode. We get the returning Aether Story and a brand new story and characters the biggest zombies launch with three maps. Four with the Black Ops Pass. It’s not for everyone solo players might have trouble with the learning curve of all the mechanics and solving the easter eggs. But if you have a buddy or two you can’t go wrong with Zombies. I had an absolute blast playing with my friends and solving the easter eggs. Treyarch has the best zombies hands down Black Ops 4 is no exception.
In June 2007 the Central Intelligence Agency declassified secret records—part of a collection of highly guarded documents called the "Family Jewels"—detailing illegal domestic surveillance, assassination plots, kidnapping, and infiltration and penetration of other "black" operations undertaken by the CIA from the 1950s to the early 1970s. CIA Director General Michael Hayden explained why he released the documents, saying that they provided a "glimpse of a very different time and a very different agency".
