War Mode was a real gem. I wrote at the time that it should become a staple in all future Call of Duty releases. And I like to imagine how much fun it would be had Treyarch included it in Black Ops 4. Imagine these multi-stage, objective-based Operations but playing out with Black Ops 4's various Specialists and their special abilities, plus the full gamut of modern arsenal. It'd be a match made in heaven, and certainly more fun and interesting than Blackout. Then again, I'd rather not have it replace Blackout entirely---after all, we don't have solo campaign in Black Ops 4. If anything, a Black Ops 4 War Mode should be included on top of everything else. What a great game that would have been.
Call of Duty Online was announced by Activision when the company first stated their interest in an Massively multiplayer online game (MMO) in early 2011. By then, it had been in development for two years. Call of Duty Online is free-to-play for mainland China and is hosted by Tencent. Since Activision had lost the publishing rights to Call of Duty and several other franchises in China due to a legal dispute on most of the Western gaming consoles (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii), it had been rumored that it would be Microsoft Windows-exclusive, since PCs hold the dominant share of gamers in mainland China.
For the past 6 seasons in competitive Call of Duty, Full Sail University has hosted a prize giveaway, giving $2,500 to the top team each season. The other ladders give out credits and medals registered on players' profiles. Tournaments hosted on the Call of Duty: Ghosts's Arena give cost from 15 to 30 credits, thus averaging at a cost of about $18.75 per tournament. If the player competes with a team, the prize money is divided and an equal cut is given to each player. Other tournaments with substantial prizes are hosted in specific cities and countries for LAN teams.
Cuba has condemned the release of the game as it has special forces trying but failing to kill a young Fidel Castro, killing instead a body-double. The Cuba-based pro-Fidel Castro website Cubadebate said the game "encourages sociopathic attitudes of American children and adolescents, the main consumers of these virtual games".

In January 2011, to a player complaining about the remaining connection problems for the game on PlayStation 3, an Activision customer service representative threatened that they could shut down the servers for the game for the PlayStation Network at any time. After some days and following some game media heat, Dan Amrich, Activision Social Media Manager, declared that even if they could kill the servers, they did not plan currently to do it. The Daily Telegraph praised Black Ops as a superb experience of gameplay, "the meaty kick of the guns, the blistering pace of the action and the sterling soundtrack of explosions, gunshots and whistling bullets all serve to quicken the player's pulse and tighten their grip on the controller", and mentioned, it is beyond the overwhelming, chaotic action in the game's major gun battles, offers among other things, a stealthy infiltration of a substation in the snow-capped steppes, in which the slow down in action is compensated for by nail-shredding tension and creepy atmosphere.
Regarding how many players will be running around on this map is not yet confirmed. Treyarch have been experimenting with trials testing from 80 to 100 players, so the final number will likely be around there. Blackout also lets you play as either solo, duos, or quads (no clue as to why they’ve omitted the ‘s’). Blackout will also have land and air vehicles ranging from Little Bird helicopters to ATVs and flatbed trucks.
