World War 2 games have been extremely overdone, but if you want to compare this to Battlefield 1, it's an absolute joke. Call of Duty: Combined Forces was a proposed concept draft originally intended to be a sequel to Call of Duty: Finest Hour. However, due to multiple legal issues that arose between Spark Unlimited, Electronic Arts, and Activision as well as other production problems, the game's draft and scripts never came to be. The game was projected to cost $10.5 million to produce after Finest Hour was complete. Eventually Activision deemed the pitch as more of an expansion than something entirely new, causing the company to reject the proposal and end their contract with Spark Unlimited shortly after.[43]

Firstly, the maps. While it definately had some stinkers, Battlefield 1 had a fair number of great maps. Even at launch the maps never felt to repetitive. This only improved over the lifespan of the game as entire sets of maps, all themed after a front from ww1, were added. We even got a few maps themed after the Russian revolution which was a nice addition. Personally, over Somme was my favorite. Now let’s look at Battlefield V. Battlefield V launched with a comparable number of maps but their actual quality are debatable. I know this was the case for a few in BF1 but it is moreso an issue in BFV. I think it is safe to assume that a fair number of people in the Battlefield community dislike fjell 625, Narvik, and Hamada. That’s 3 out of the 8 maps that aren’t well suited to the gameplay that most people will be utilizing.
Black Ops is back! Featuring gritty, grounded Multiplayer combat, the biggest Zombies offering ever with three full undead adventures at launch, and Blackout, where the universe of Black Ops comes to life in a massive battle royale experience. Blackout features the largest map in Call of Duty history, signature Black Ops combat, and characters, locations and weapons from the Black Ops series.

The sixth mission occurs much later, on January 17, 1945, with Voronin now a full Sergeant, serving with the 150th Rifle Division of the 3rd Shock Army. The unit secures a makeshift German tank repair facility in Warsaw in the midst of the Vistula–Oder Offensive. The seventh mission takes place shortly after, with the unit moving to regroup with the 4th Guards Tank Army. Due to shortages in experienced soldiers, the eighth mission, on January 26, requires Voronin to command a T-34-85 tank for the 2nd Guards Tank Army. In a full scale offense, the Soviets capture a town near the Oder River. The ninth mission is also fought in the tank, with Voronin eliminating all surviving German units in the town.
Spotting. I don't know the full mechanics how this works, but I've seen very few markers above enemy's heads for their location. Muzzle flare, bullets, map markers and direct line of sight have been my spotting methods. People may be able to have better takes on the spotting systems (like Recon players) than I will, but overall I don't feel like the enemy has constant knowledge of where I am. Someone please comment how spotting works and I'll edit it into this section here with your name referenced.
BEHEMOTH, COLUMBIA: Situated on a massive excavation vehicle, this narrow multi-level map, gives players flanking opportunities with danger around every corner. RUINS, MEXICO: A mountaintop Mayan ruin overrun by the jungle, this map blends the verticality of a dominant temple with tight subterranean sections. UNEARTHED, CLASSIFIED: Drops players in the heart of an alien dig site, where players navigate through a mix of high-tech HAZMAT facilities. COLLISION, NEW YORK: The mangled remains of cargo ship crashed into a New York bridge, ripe with burnt out vehicles, this map provides the ideal theatre for close-quarters combat.

Development for the game began in 2009. It runs an enhanced version of the IW 3.0 engine used in Treyarch's past title, World at War.[8] The improvements made allowed for bigger campaign levels to be made as well as enhanced lighting. Treyarch focused specifically on Black Ops during development; they were developing two games at once while making World at War. Different teams within the company focused on a certain game mode. Music was composed by Sean Murray, with music by The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eminem and Avenged Sevenfold appearing in the game. Marketing of the game began in April 2010. Multiple trailers promoting the game and its modes were released from May until October.


Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the sixth installment of the main series. It was developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision.[13][14] Activision Blizzard announced Modern Warfare 2 on February 11, 2009.[15][16] The game was released worldwide on November 10, 2009, for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows.[13] A Nintendo DS iteration of the game, titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized, was released alongside the game and the Wii port of Call of Duty : Modern Warfare.[17][18] Modern Warfare 2 is the direct sequel to Call of Duty 4 and continues the same storyline, taking place five years after the first game and featuring several returning characters including Captain Price and "Soap" MacTavish.[19]
