The company did note that there were some top-sellers in its midst, such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man, which saw strong performance over the past few months. But whether it will keep the company afloat in the long term has yet to be seen. It also noted a 10.4 increase in new software sales overall, showing that the industry is thriving, though just as much with digital sales as physical.
In conclusion, with admittedly low expectations Call of Duty Black Ops 4 manages to be one of the biggest surprises of the 2018 hands down. Call of Duty haters will always hate the game no matter what, call of duty can cure cancer and they will still hate the game. This isn’t the game for you. But for the rest of the people who are either indifferent or fans of Call of Duty this is a really great game by far one of the better Call of Duties. Not in the same level of the classics of course but still one of the better ones we have recently. The game is a live service so everything I just said is subject to change it can become even better or nosedive off a cliff. Finally in the battle of Call of Duty vs Battlefield it’s not even close this year. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 beats Battlefield V no contest this year Call of Duty wins. Welcome back Call of Duty.

The 2005 release Battlefield 2 takes place in the modern day, depicting a war between the United States and China and the fictional Middle Eastern Coalition (MEC). Despite requiring numerous patches due to a large number of bugs and glitches in the game upon its release, it was a large commercial success, selling more than 2,250,000 copies worldwide, by July 2006.[35] One expansion pack, Special Forces, which added Russia, exclusive missions, and new weapons and gadgets, and two booster packs, Armored Fury (adding three new battles in the USA) and Euro Force (adding the European Union), were also released. A similar game called Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was released for consoles, with a larger single player mode but limited online play.

Battlefield 4 is a seminal moment for the Battlefield series as more award-winning multiplayer game design elements are incorporated into the single-player campaign. In single-player, gamers will experience huge environments, a playground of destruction, access to an arsenal of vehicles and the ability to direct their squad mates. Taking a page from the social aspect of multiplayer gaming, the single-player mode will now track players’ progress via leaderboards, adding an element of persistence and friendly competition to the campaign.

In 2006, Treyarch released Call of Duty 3, their first Call of Duty game of the main series. Treyarch and Infinity Ward signed a contract stating that the producer of each upcoming title in the series would alternate between the two companies. In 2010, Sledgehammer Games announced they were working on a main series title for the franchise. This game was postponed in order to help Infinity Ward produce Modern Warfare 3. In 2014, it was confirmed that Sledgehammer Games would produce the 2014 title, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and the studios would begin a three-year rotation.[38][39] Advanced Warfare was followed by Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops III in 2015, Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in 2016, Sledgehammer Games's Call of Duty: WWII in 2017 and was followed by Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in 2018.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 raises the bar, delivering the most thrilling experience yet with a focus on tactical, grounded gameplay and player choice. The game offers a new level of online action across a variety of new weaponry, maps and modes. For the first time, Multiplayer serves as the center of the games narrative as players explore each Specialists role and unique playstyles. With the return of the Pick 10 Create-a-Class system and a new Gear category, gameplay becomes more customizable than ever, giving players choice on how to equip their Specialist. Combined with the ability to unlock devastating Scorestreaks, players will have the opportunity to be powerful on their own or unstoppable as a team. Featuring gritty, grounded Multiplayer combat, the biggest Zombies offering ever with three full undead adventures at launch, and Blackout, where the universe of Black Ops comes to life in a massive battle royale experience. Blackout features the largest map in Call of Duty history, signature Black Ops combat, and characters, locations and weapons from the Black Ops series.Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 delivers the biggest Day 1 Zombies offering ever with three full experiences at launch: IX, Voyage of Despair, and Blood of the Dead. With an exciting new adventure and a brand-new cast of characters, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4s will feature the deep gameplay and easter eggs that its rabid community of fans have come to expect.

This just seems like a particular “at risk” year for EA and Battlefield, given its steep competition. Granted that kind of happens every fall, but alternating Battlefield and Battlefront releases, this seems like it maybe should have been time for the latter just to stand out a little bit more, but that’s not how production schedules work. EA will always have FIFA and Madden and such to lean on, but I do think its shooter series are becoming less relevant as time goes on. Perhaps a game like Anthem will change that, but I don’t think Battlefield V will.

World War 2 games have been extremely overdone, but if you want to compare this to Battlefield 1, it's an absolute joke. This is in no wayWorld War 2 games have been extremely overdone, but if you want to compare this to Battlefield 1, it's an absolute joke. This is in no way accurate to the actual WW 2, almost as inaccurate as Cod WW2, and shoves political agenda down your throat.
